LH Wayback Machine keeps a public history of your site on the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine. Every published post, page, custom post type entry and public taxonomy term is sent to the archive automatically, and sent again whenever it changes. There is nothing to configure.
On activation it works through your existing content in the background, so older material is archived too, not just what you publish from now on.
Features
- Archives new and edited content shortly after you finish editing, waiting until the post is no longer open in the editor so a burst of saves becomes one snapshot.
- Stays out of the way: everything runs in the background, and snapshots are requested without waiting for the archive to reply.
- Confirms each snapshot actually exists on the Wayback Machine, and resubmits it if it does not.
- Adds a Wayback column to post, page and term lists showing when each item was last sent and linking to its latest snapshot.
- Uses Action Scheduler when it is available (for example alongside WooCommerce) and WP-Cron otherwise, with no extra dependency.
- Works on single sites and multisite networks, with every site archived independently.
