LH Private Feeds lets members subscribe to RSS feeds that include content they can only see when logged in. On a private site or a members-only section, a normal feed reader cannot sign in, so private posts and activity are left out of the feed. This plugin fixes that by giving each logged-in user a personal feed URL that carries their own key.
How it works
- When a logged-in user views or copies a feed link, the plugin adds their personal key and user ID to it.
- When a feed reader requests that URL, the plugin checks the key and serves the feed as that user, so it contains everything they are allowed to read.
- Personalised feeds are titled for the user they belong to, and are never page-cached.
- Feeds get a stylesheet so they are readable when opened in a browser.
It works on single sites and multisite networks, alongside LH Privacy Options, and with BuddyPress activity feeds (sitewide, member and group).
