Making a presentation

Slides

1. Add a presentation under Presentations > Add New.
2. Add a Cover block for each slide, and in its Slide panel turn on Use as presentation slide. Set the slide’s background colour, image or video, overlay and text colour with the Cover block’s usual controls; they carry onto the slide.
3. Put the slide’s content inside the Cover: headings, paragraphs, lists, images, galleries, video, embeds, tables, code, quotes, columns and, when LH Mermaid is active, Mermaid diagrams.
4. In the same panel, choose the slide’s transition (Slide, Fade, Zoom, Convex, Concave or None) and, if it should move on by itself, an auto-advance time in seconds that overrides the deck’s.

A deck with no slides marked plays its whole content as a single slide.

Vertical slide stacks

Wrap slide Covers in a Group block and turn on Vertical slide group in its Slide panel. The Covers inside play as a Reveal.js vertical stack, reached with the down arrow.

Deck settings

The Presentation Settings panel in the editor sidebar sets the whole deck:

• Auto-advance: seconds per slide, 0 for manual.
• Loop: return to the first slide after the last.
• Kiosk mode: hides the controls, progress bar and overview, turns off the keyboard and loops, for self-running displays.

Any other Reveal.js option can be set by storing a JSON object in the deck’s _lh_presentation_config post meta. It has no editor UI and wins over the settings above where they overlap. For example:

Playing a deck

• Add /present/ to a published presentation’s address, use Open presentation in the Presentation Settings panel, or Present in the row actions on the Presentations screen. The endpoint’s rewrite rules are flushed when the plugin is activated.
• A draft plays at its preview address with lh_preview_present=1 added, for a user who can edit that deck. The abilities return this as preview_url.
• To show a deck on a TV, cast the browser tab from Chrome (menu, then Cast).
