Changelog

  • 0.5.0: Accessibility and performance fixes from a Lighthouse audit. Every template now wraps its content in a main element (the main landmark), keeping the site-content id the skip link targets. The site description under the title is a paragraph instead of an h3, so headings no longer skip a level. The mobile menu button has a screen-reader label and both header toggles report whether they are open (aria-expanded). On post cards the featured image link, which duplicates the title link, is hidden from screen readers and the tab order; on image-format posts, which have no title link, it is labelled with the post title. Post card images declare their display width (sizes), so browsers download an image no larger than the card. Text links use a darker teal, #0D7F6C (4.9:1 on white), instead of the accent #13C4A5 (2.2:1); links in the dark footer keep the accent, and footer and credits text is lightened from #767676 to #a0a0a0 to meet contrast on the dark backgrounds. The theme no longer needs jQuery: assets/js/global.js is rewritten in plain JavaScript and loads deferred in the footer, so it no longer blocks rendering. FlexSlider, a jQuery plugin, now loads only on pages that show a gallery post.
  • 0.4.2: Restores the mosaic layout of posts on the blog, archive and search pages, lost in the move to block templates. The posts grid was set on the wrapper around the Query block rather than on its post list, so posts stacked in a single column. The grid now sits on the post list: three columns, two below 1040px and one below 600px, with a 30px gap. Browsers with native CSS masonry (display: grid-lanes, currently Safari 26.4 and later) lay the posts out as a mosaic natively. Elsewhere a new small script, assets/js/mosaic.js (no jQuery, loaded deferred on listing pages only), packs each post up under the one above it, keeping newest posts running left to right, and re-packs as images load or the window resizes. Without JavaScript the posts show as a plain grid. Printed listing pages show the posts one after another.
  • 0.4.1: Renames the theme’s code from the Baskerville names it was forked with to LH Blockerville names. PHP functions are now prefixed lh_blockerville_, the nav walker class is LH_Blockerville_Nav_Walker, script and style handles use lh-blockerville- (style.css is now lh-blockerville-style), and every translatable string uses the theme’s lh-blockerville text domain. The editor stylesheets are renamed to assets/css/editor-style.css and assets/css/block-editor-style.css. The legacy Baskerville logo Customizer section and the baskerville_logo fallback in the header are removed; the site logo comes from the core Site Identity setting as before. No visible change to the front end.
  • 0.4.0: Adds a print stylesheet (assets/css/print.css), loaded separately with media=”print” so it never affects the screen layout. When a page is printed, backgrounds, shadows, the header image, navigation menus, breadcrumbs, the sidebar, footer, credits, pagination and all form elements (comment form, search boxes, buttons) are removed, and content prints as a single black-on-white column with the site name, post title, content, author and dates, and comments. External links in post content print with their URL after them.
  • 0.3.1: Portfolio entries are now displayed by the block template that LH Portfolio 1.21.0 registers, so the theme’s own single-lh-portfolio template and its lh/portfolio Block Bindings source are removed. Adds a sidebar template part (parts/sidebar.html) wrapping the site sidebar, so templates can include the sidebar with the core Template Part block; when used that way the sidebar fills its column instead of floating at 27.5% width. Other templates are unchanged. Task 148384.
  • 0.03: Archive, search and 404 pages now use core blocks: Query Title and Term Description on archives, a new dedicated search results template with a proper no-results message, and core Heading, Paragraph and Search blocks on the 404 page, styled to match the existing search form. The small Category or Tag label above archive titles is no longer shown. Removes the lh/archive-title and lh/404-content blocks.
  • 0.02: The post grid now uses CSS Grid, with native masonry where the browser supports it, instead of Masonry.js; this also fixes articles flashing and then disappearing on the blog index. The Masonry and imagesLoaded scripts are no longer loaded. The version bump changes the asset URLs, so browsers stop serving the old cached script.
  • 0.01: First release as a standalone block theme, forked from lh-baskerville (itself based on Baskerville by Anders Noren) with no parent-theme dependency. Site header, footer, sidebar, post meta and comments become dynamic blocks; header and footer template parts; block templates for single posts, pages, the blog index, archives, 404, attachments, portfolio entries and knowledge base entries; Block Bindings sources for portfolio and knowledge base entries; header.php and footer.php shimmed to the same template parts for BuddyPress. Dead classic templates removed.
