LH AI Legibility makes a WordPress site easy for AI agents and crawlers to read. Any post or page can be fetched as clean Markdown instead of HTML, and the site can publish an llms.txt file describing itself, following the llms.txt specification.
It exists so that AI tools reading a site get its actual content, not navigation, scripts and layout, and so a site owner can tell those tools which pages matter.
Key features
- Markdown on request. A request for any single post or page with
Accept: text/markdowngets Markdown with a short YAML header (title, URL, dates, type, excerpt). Where the post type has a block template, the Markdown is built from the same template as the HTML page, so the two cannot drift apart. - llms.txt and llms-full.txt. Written in the block editor as a single document with a dedicated section block, and served at
/llms.txt, with/llms-full.txtadding the full Markdown of each linked page. - Safe by default. Password-protected and private posts are never served as Markdown or included in llms-full.txt, and any post or post type can be opted out with a filter.
- Cache-safe. HTML responses carry
Vary: Accept, and on LiteSpeed servers the plugin adds a cache vary rule to.htaccess, since LiteSpeed ignores that header, so browsers are never served the Markdown version.
Conversion is done by LH Content Converter, which must be installed and active. A draft llms.txt document is created on each site the first time an administrator opens wp-admin there: edit and publish it to bring /llms.txt live.
