LH Polls is a general-purpose polling plugin for WordPress. Members vote on single- or multiple-choice polls, optionally leaving a short comment alongside their vote. Polls are embeddable anywhere via standard WordPress oEmbed (or a plain iframe), so a poll created on one site can be embedded on another — including outside the LocalHero network.
Key features
- Single-choice or multiple-choice (“allow multiple”) polls
- Optional free-text comment attached to each vote, for rationale
- Vote-changing support (when not multiple-choice)
- Embeddable via oEmbed (self-contained HTML document, zero theme dependency) or inline on the standalone poll page
- Votes are stored as a dedicated (excluded-from-feeds) comment type, paired with a custom vote-tallying table, so counts and rationale stay in sync
- Admin can manually record a vote on a member’s behalf (e.g. for votes collected outside the site)
Install & setup
Network-activate the plugin, then create a Poll post, add options, and publish. Embed the poll anywhere WordPress oEmbed is supported by pasting its permalink on its own line, or link to it directly.
