Retired. LH Vcard has been replaced by LH Contacts, which does everything described below, with the address book served by LH DAV. It was network-deactivated on LocalHero on 1 November 2026. LH Contacts uses none of LH Vcard’s names or stored data: its filters are lh_contacts_*, downloads move to lh-contacts/v1/download, the shortcode is , and contacts apps need their CardDAV account added again. This plugin is no longer developed.

LH Vcard turns site members’ profiles into standard vCard contacts, so staff can add members to their phone or address book straight from LocalHero: as downloadable .vcf files, individually or in bulk, or as a CardDAV address book that keeps their contacts app in sync with the site.

What it does

• Builds a vCard for each member: name, email, photo, a link to their profile, the club as the organisation, and their teams (BuddyPress groups). Other plugins add fields through a filter; LH Profile Page adds phone, address, birthday and more.
• Offers download links in several places: the users list in admin, BuddyPress member profiles, BuddyPress groups (all members at once), group reports, check-in reports and bbPress reply author details.
• Serves each site’s members as a read-only CardDAV address book that iPhone Contacts, DAVx5 on Android and Thunderbird can sync. After the first sync only changed cards are sent, and members who leave the site or are blocked are removed from the phone.
• Shows teams according to BuddyPress visibility: hidden groups appear only to their own members and BuddyPress moderators.
• A dashboard widget and the [lh_vcard_updated_vcards] shortcode list the most recently updated profiles.

Why it exists

Community and club sites accumulate contact details in member profiles that are otherwise locked inside WordPress. LH Vcard turns that data into a standard format any phone or address book understands, with no retyping of numbers or emails, and with CardDAV the site stays the single place where those details are kept up to date.

Setup

Network-activate the plugin; there are no settings. Links and the address book are available to users with publish_posts by default (filterable). Download links are signed and expire after 24 hours.
