Note for the record this was sorted out on the wordpress.org forums. The plugins worked correctly but the Gerhard was assumed it would protect the whole site. This plugin simply makes the buddypress components (except registration) private.

I am currently using WP 6.6.1 and PHP 8.2. Unfortunately the plugin does not work. We used to use the Private Buddypress plugin by Dennis Morhardt, which no longer works, so I was hoping that LH Private BuddyPress could replace it. However, it does not show a lock after activation, all pages remain publicly accessible.
