The LocalHero project

LocalHero is a self-hosted, member-owned platform for running community organisations. It started from one problem: how member-driven organisations can run themselves well without giving their data away. Two principles still guide it:

1. The best tools. Membership, events, groups, messaging and documents in one place, built for the specialist needs of community organisations.
2. Done ethically and openly. Organisations own their content and data and are never locked in. Members' privacy is respected, and the code is open source.

Today LocalHero is a multisite network with a social layer shared across sites. Every site can also be worked on through AI assistants. Public plugins are published on GitHub under lhero-org.

Everything is free while the platform is in testing.
